Stompers Anon and Jalex alerted Stomp to a fire that broke out on the 13th storey of Block 157 Serangoon North Avenue 1 yesterday evening (Apr 11).
Said Stomper Anon:
"My neighbour said that he heard an explosion coming from the kitchen area of a unit on the 13th floor.
"Residents were only allowed to go back to their respective units at around 8pm."
A spokesperson from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp that they received a call alerting them to the fire at 6.50pm.

The spokesperson added:
"Upon arrival, the SCDF firefighters immediately conducted forced entry into the unit of the 13th floor.
"SCDF firefighters immediately extinguished the fire with 2 water jets. In addition, approximately 20 people were self-evacuated with the assistance of Police.
