Driver sent to hospital after car slides down slope along Marymount Road

Stomper Larry alerted Stomp to an accident along Marymount Road this morning (Mar 8) involving a car.

In the photos the Stomper contributed, a silver car can be seen on a slope between Marymount Convent School and Marymount Road.

According to The Straits Times, the Volkswagen had crashed into the school fence, but did not look badly damaged.

Skid marks were also seen at the top of the slope.

Four tow trucks were sent to the scene, and the vehicle was towed to the top of the slope at around 10am.

Personnel from the police force and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were also at the scene.

A spokesperson from the police said:

“On 8 March 2017, at 7.03am, the police were alerted to an accident involving a car at 20 Marymount Road.

“A 38-year-old woman was conscious when she was conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.”

A SCDF spokesperson also told Stomp that the driver sustained soreness in her right shoulder and right wrist.

An ambulance and a fire engine were deployed to the scene.
