77-year-old woman killed after 13-year-old boy crashes car into house in M'sia

A 77-year-old woman was killed when a 13-year-old boy crashed a car into her living room in Kampung Baru Ladang Banir, Malaysia.

Malaysian police said that the woman, Lai Kwai Lan, died from head injuries as a result of the crash, reports The Star.

The 13-year-old boy was reversing the car when he accidentally stepped on the accelerator pedal instead.

This resulted in him ramming the car 20m across the road into Lai's house at about 5.15pm on Saturday (May 6).

"She was immediately rushed to the Tapah Hospital before being transferred to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh," said Malaysian police.

"She died while being treated at about 2am," they added.

The woman was reportedly staying alone at the house and police are trying to contact her next-of-kin.

The case would be investigated under Malaysia's Section 41 (1)(A) of the Road Transport Act.
