ComfortDelgro cab badly damaged after accident with container truck on AYE

An accident between a ComfortDelgro taxi and a trailer happened today (May 18)  at around 2.45pm on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) towards Tuas. 

Stomper Andy was at the scene and alerted Stomp to the incident.

He took some photos and a video, which he forwarded to Stomp.

In the photos and video, a ComfortDelGro cab could be seen badly damaged.

Its front and back bumpers had fallen off and some parts of the vehicle were trapped between the wheels of the trailer.

A man in a blue shirt was seen attempting to remove some of the debris caught between the truck's wheels. 

The tyres of the cab had also fallen apart. 

Said Andy:

“I don’t know what happened, but the accident looked quite serious.”

A police spokesperson has issued a formal statement on the incident:

"On May 18, 2017, at 3.07pm, the police were alerted to an accident involving a taxi and a trailer, along AYE towards Tuas, after Jurong Town Hall Road exit. 

"No injuries were reported.

"Police investigations are ongoing."
